     National Leadership Conference General Information

  • Who: Students who have placed at their competition at the State Leadership Conference (4th place or better) are expected to attend the National Leadership Conference (NLC).(This does not include Chapter Reports. Chapter reports must place 3rd.)
  • What: NLC is the ultimate FBLA event where students who qualified at the state level can come and compete with students around the world! Students at the conference will have an opportunity to listen to keynote speakers and attend business workshops.
  • When: NLC will start Thursday, June 28 and will end on Monday, July 2nd. Note: The flight times are listed in the FAQ's below.
  • Where: Renaissance Baltimore Harbor Place. The hotel address is 202 E Pratt St, Baltimore, MD 21202.
  • Why: This is the final showdown, the best of the best will compete on this stage to determine who is the top of their respective competition.
Below is a list of forms that pertain to this year's National Leadership Conference. All forms must be completed by all students attending.

Q: What type of clothes should I bring and when should I wear formal attire over casual attire?

A: Students will be staying in Baltimore for a total of 6 days. We advise students to bring at least 5 casual outfits and 3 formal outfits. Formal outfits shall be worn to any FBLA event such as Opening Ceremony, their competition, voting booths, or a workshop. Students can arrive at the hotel wearing their casual attire. If an FBLA member is found not wearing formal attire to any of these events, they will be disqualified from their competition (this includes not wearing your nametag!).

Q: How much money should I bring?

A: Bring at least $50 a day for food. If you plan on buying souvenirs, going to a theme park, or touring the city bring about $200 extra.

Note: Please arrive at the Tampa International Airport at least 1 ½ hours prior to departure. Departure time is set for 8:30 AM, You should arrive at 6:45 AM latest.

Q: What time will everything happen?

A: Plan to arrive at Tampa International Airport at 6:45 AM on Wednesday, June 27th. Mr. Akinrefon will be present with your boarding information. We will all meet at check in then move to the departure gate as a unit. When we arrive to Washington we will take a shuttle to the Renaissance Baltimore Harbor Place.

We will now follow the FBLA NLC Schedule.

We will leave Renaissance Baltimore Harbor Place at 11:00am on Monday, July 2nd. Please have you bags packed and prepared for room checks by 10:00 AM. We will arrive back in Tampa at 9:20 PM on Monday, July 2nd.

Q: Will there be a meeting in case we have more questions?

Yes, there will be a National Parent Meeting at 6:45pm on Wednesday, June 20th at the Seminole Heights Library, 4711 N Central Ave, Tampa FL, 33603.
