Business and Technology classes are some of the most beneficial classes that are offered at Middleton high school. Business classes prepare your child for today’s workplace through the education of leadership skills, career exploration, development of character, fostering citizenship, building self-confidence, and assisting in occupational goals. Because these factors are an important part of our program, these activities include a Future Business Leader of America (FBLA) chapter, which is a co-curricular club. All students enrolled in Middleton are eligible to join FBLA. Affiliated, due-paying members will be able to participate in our out-of-class activities, possibly serve as officers, and potentially gain recognition from the district, state, and national leadership conferences.

FBLA is a dynamic vocational club that has been in existence since 1942. It is recognized as an accomplishment on a resume by many businesses and universities. Additionally, many scholarship opportunities are available to FBLA members and once your child becomes a member, they will have automatic acceptance into Johnson and Wales University if they decide to go to this college upon graduation. There are also many other opportunities available through membership, including field trips, community service projects, competitions, and much more.

FBLA is a very active club and requires substantial involvement from your son/daughter, as well as you. Aside from going on several field trips, competing in competitions, and completing the requirements for several Business Achievement Awards they will also have the opportunity to fundraise. Please remind them of this as we want to make sure that all members are actively involved. They will have a great time being a part of this organization and will learn many important skills needed for their future, skills not only useful in the business world, but also in day to day life experiences.
